  • Is the infill panel made of Japanese rice paper?

    No. Shoji Screens of Melbourne uses a combination of acrylics which emulate the rice paper effect, but our infill are more durable and sound dampening. 

  • Are they made in Australia?

    Yes. All of our Shoji products are custom-made in a factory in Brisbane. 

  • What wood do you use in your frames?

    We offer different wood types for your Shoji Screen/doors - Tasmanian Oak and Guinea Rosewood. They are available in black, white and stained. 

  • Can you make custom doors?

    Yes. all of our dividers and doors are available as wall sliding doors, cavity doors, bi-fold doors, wardrobe doors, fixed screens or free standing bi-folds. 

  • Is there a warranty on your products?

    10 years 

  • Do you have a showroom?

    Yes

  • Can I have my Shoji Door outside?

    We do not recommend these doors as an outside solution. 

  • Are your screens soundproof?

    Our doors are not completely soundproof, but the acrylic of the infill does dampen noise to a degree.

  • Must Shoji Screens have tracks on the floor?

    This depends on the type of door and mechanism you want to be installed. For larger Shoji doors, it’s preferable to have a track to guide the weight of the door.
